What do you get when you combine the efforts of Dallas house veterans and the minds behind Midas, Lavish Habits and Select Recordings? The answer is simple. You get dance music's hottest new production team, Honest Cars.
In 2003, Paul Paredes and Scott Pace formed the production trio Midas and experimented
with a new style of dirty, freaked up house music. During this time, Paul launched
his record label, Select Recordings and formed the group Lavish Habits, which
was a decadent blend of new wave flavored hip-house. The results of both projects
were stellar. The sounds were so addictive that top djs and producers around
the world became instant fans. In fact, Mark Farina raved about the two groups
in DJ Magazine UK and reviewed their first collaborative effort, the "Midas EP" as "The
Best Record of WMC 2003". Soon after, Lavish Habits was being compared to "808
State at its best" in XLR8R.
Although Paul and Scott experienced the buzz of early success, they did not become complacent from the hype. Instead, they kept their focus on the future and continued to move forward with the greater intention of
elevating the status quo of dance music. This forward thinking led to the manifestation of their latest creation, Honest Cars.
The Honest Cars sound is innovative, clever and off the wall. It reaches deep into the roots of techno, industrial, new wave, hip hop and rock music channeling everything from the Cure and Cajmere to NIN and the
Neptunes. Honest Cars is all about chemistry and these two are experts at it. Their production and performances are a dynamic and eclectic experience. Their music takes the listener to new heights by spontaneously
combining elements of the past, present and future. With the maneuverability to swerve from left to right at the drop of a dime, Honest Cars rocks the house by cutting through the envelope with a razor sharp
edge and effortlessly traveling across the vast musical spectrum.
In a time where change is right around the corner, take a back seat, enjoy yourself for a moment, and let the Honest Cars sound take you for a ride. The future of dance music will always be mysterious, but one thing is
certain. These boys are masterminding a new trail blazing sound that's going to drive you into a frenzy.
